Word on the Street - Hannah's Hidden Gem

05.08.23

When Hannah moved from New York City to Chicago, she was in search of moments and places that reminded her of the city she left behind. That’s when she found Table, Donkey, and Stick.

In the pocket of Palmer Square meets Logan meets Wicker, is this gem of a restaurant off Armitage called Table, Donkey and Stick—or “Table-Donkey-Stick” (per the regulars). The outside is very unassuming and doesn’t scream come in and dine. I walked past it numerous times while enjoying the scenery of the neighborhood and one day I decided to try it out. It’s very intimate with an adorable outdoor patio/garden that encourages you to indulge in a glass of wine (or 2) and a cheese plate. The aesthetic is rustic and extremely welcoming. The menu has been curated with such talent and is so delicious. I lived in New York City for 5 years and would walk neighborhoods for hours finding little gems just like this. While only living in Chicago for 2 years, I was dying to find places like Table, Donkey and Stick to bring me back to that nostalgic feeling from a city I’ve left behind.

Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.

See you there,
Hannah
