Chicago has the best dive bars. Our Taproom Manager, Nick, frequents hole-in-the-wall spots and recently discovered a new favorite.
I came across Innertown Pub at the corner of W Thomas St & N Winchester Ave. It’s a neighborhood staple with 35+ years of history in the area and the minute I walked in the door, I knew this would become a regular spot for me. The dimly lit, eclectic decor, and FREE pool gave me such a cozy feeling that invited me to relax and stay a while. The pub is filled with chatter and music from the jukebox. I recommend you saddle up to the bar and let the warm interior wash over you.
A must for a good dive is a jukebox. Here’s my top five songs to play to keep the energy up without being too niche.
- Talking Heads - This Must Be the Place
- Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee
- Meat Loaf - I Would Do Anything For Love
- Electric Light Orchestra - Turn to Stone
- Jackie Wilson - (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher
