Q: When is the event?A: Friday, September 22nd, 5:00p-10:00p AND Saturday, September 23rd, 3:00p-10:00p
Q: Do I need a ticket?A: Nope, just donate to one of five local charities at the entrance of the Block Party.
Q: Should I bring cash to donate at the door?A: That would be ideal. We’re partnering with a couple excellent local charities that you’ll want to support with your cash.
Q: What are the charities?A: Chicago Canine Rescue, Open Books, RefugeeOne, Mission Muscle Foundation, Social Works
Q: Where do I enter?A: Entry gate 1: West side of Fulton St @ Wolcott. Entry gate 2: South side of Wood @ Walnut.
Q: Is the entrance subject to capacity?A: Yes, so get there early.
Q: Is this event wheelchair accessible?A: Yes, the event is on the street.
Q: Is the 312 Block Party rain or shine?A: Yes, but in the event of severe weather (i.e. high winds or lightning) we will take proper precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.
Q: This event is after Labor Day. Can I wear white?A: Good question.
Q: I have a gluten thing. Will you have non-gluten drinks?A: We’ll be pouring some Virtue Cider and water. Water is gluten free, right?
Q: I don’t give a heck about any of this stuff. Will the Taproom be open?A: Yes, but it’s going to be a part of the event. So access to the Taproom will go like this: Line up in the single-file line, order your beer with tokens, and walk on out to enjoy the rest of the event you don’t want to be at.
Q: Can I bring my backpack?A: You don’t need one, as we won’t have beers-to-go.
Q: I love spending money! What forms of payment do you accept?A: For beer, you will be able to purchase 'beer tokens' at booths near the entrances with either cash or credit. As far as food goes, it depends on the vendor. Some will take credit, some will be cash only. Either way, there will be ATMs available at the Block Party for all your cash needs!
Q: What food will there be? I didn't eat anything all day and now I MUST FEAST!A: Bub City BBQ, Girl and the Goat, Beat Kitchen, and Happy Lobster. Intelligentsia will also be serving up coffee.
Q: I gotta know the exact ounces of beer that will be poured in a cup because I’m a detail-obsessed person.A: No one pour is the same. No one bar is the same. Pours will vary. It’s half the fun. Spoiler, we’re not trying to pull one over on you.
Q: I wanna know when last call is so I won’t be surprised when the bartender legally can’t serve me. I also promise not to get angry at them for doing their job when this will inevitably happen.A: 9:45pm is last call. Please exit quietly and respect our neighbors. Love you.
Q: I love driving everywhere by myself in my giant SUV. To the store, to work, to my hot yoga class, and especially to giant block parties. Where the heck can I park my whip?A: Parking is not going to be great. Because it's Chicago. There will be very limited street parking available. But public transportation and ride services are neat AND responsible.
Q: Is there bike parking, bro? I want everyone to see my sweet fixie.A: Heck yeah! Ride that thing over here, lock it up, and enjoy the party. Please ride responsibly. Wear a helmet.
Q: What beers are you pouring?A: TBD. Stay up-to-date by following us on social.
